Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working together.

  • Dyslexic thinking coaching helps creative professionals who are dyslexic (or think like dyslexics) build confidence and systems that work WITH their brains, not against them.

Unlike traditional coaching, it's designed around how dyslexic minds actually process: spatially, holistically, visually, and often better in motion. We use walking sessions, Co-Active coaching methodology, Design Thinking frameworks, proven assessment tools, and visual collaboration, not generic productivity advice.

  • Regular coaching assumes everyone's brain works the same way—linearly, sequentially, with similar executive function capabilities.

Dyslexic thinking coaching is built around your specific cognitive patterns:

    • Movement-based (walking sessions because dyslexic brains think better in motion)

    • Visual/spatial methods (Miro boards, Design Thinking for coaching)

    • Proven assessment tools (Saboteur Assessment, CliftonStrengths, Co-Active tools)

    • Non-linear approaches (we don't force step-by-step when your brain doesn't work that way)

    • Coach who gets it (I'm dyslexic—I've lived this)

  • Therapy addresses mental health, trauma, and past wounds. It's often diagnostic and clinical.

Coaching is forward-focused: setting goals, building systems, creating momentum, and developing skills.

If you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or trauma—start with therapy. If you're functional but frustrated, stuck, or tired of systems that don't work for your brain, coaching can help.

Many of my clients do both: therapy for emotional processing, coaching for practical progress.

  • No.

If you recognize yourself in how I describe dyslexic thinking, spatial processing, pattern recognition, struggles with linear execution, thinking better in motion, we can work together.

Many of my clients don't have formal diagnoses but know they think differently than conventional systems expect.

  • Yes.

ADHD and dyslexia often overlap, and many ADHD brains benefit from spatial, movement-based coaching methods.

If you're a creative professional struggling with systems that don't fit your brain, book a free intro call. We'll figure out if it's a good fit.

  • This isn't about meeting a severity threshold.

If conventional productivity advice doesn't work for you, if you think in pictures and patterns, if you need to move to think clearly, if you feel like everyone else got a manual you never received, you'll benefit from this approach.

  • Yes.

I primarily work with people in creative fields (designers, writers, entrepreneurs, artists) because I understand those worlds from 25 years of experience.

But if you're in another field and resonate strongly with the dyslexic thinking approach, let's talk. Book an intro call and we'll see if it fits.

  • We talk for 30 minutes about:

    • Where you're stuck right now

    • What you've already tried (and why it didn't work)

    • Whether dyslexic thinking coaching is right for your situation

    • What working together would look like

No pressure. No sales pitch. Just an honest conversation to see if we're a good fit.

  • Each session is different depending on what you need, but typically:

    We discuss:

    • What's happened since last session

    • What's working (and what's not)

    • Current challenges or projects

    We work on:

    • Identifying your specific dyslexic thinking patterns

    • Designing systems that fit YOUR brain

    • Problem-solving current sticking points

    • Building confidence in your cognitive strengths

    You leave with:

    • Specific things to try/implement

    • Tools or frameworks designed for you

    • Clarity on next steps

After each session, I send a summary with key insights and action items.

  • I use several proven frameworks and tools to understand how your brain works and build systems that fit:

    Saboteur Assessment (Positive Intelligence)
Identifies your internal saboteurs, the Judge, Avoider, Hyper-Vigilant, and others, that undermine your confidence and create self-doubt. We learn to recognize and quiet these voices.

    CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder)
Reveals your top natural strengths. For dyslexic professionals who've spent years focusing on weaknesses, this shifts the conversation to what you're naturally brilliant at.

    Co-Active Coaching Tools
I'm trained by the Co-Active Training Institute with extensive certification in their methodology. This includes powerful tools for self-awareness, perspective shifting, and creating sustainable change.

    Design Thinking for Coaching
Not generic Design Thinking, these are specific coaching-adapted frameworks that help us visualize problems, test solutions, and prototype new systems. We use Miro boards to map your thinking spatially, experiment with ideas, and iterate on what works.

    Gallup Tools
Additional assessment and development frameworks that help us understand your patterns and build personalized strategies.

These aren't just tests, they're tools we use throughout our work together to build awareness, create strategies, test approaches, and track progress.

    • Walking sessions: 60-90 minutes

    • Video sessions: 60 minutes

  • Most clients meet weekly or bi-weekly.

We find a cadence that works for your schedule and pace of change. Some people need weekly touchpoints; others prefer bi-weekly with more practice time between.

  • I offer two coaching programs:

    4-Month Program (8 sessions)
Ideal for focused work on specific challenges, building initial systems, and gaining clarity.

    6-Month Program (12 sessions)
Ideal for deep transformation, habit development, and comprehensive system building.

Most clients choose the 6-month program because meaningful, long-term change requires time to explore, experiment, and embed new ways of working.

  • Amsterdam (Walking Sessions): We meet at a location in Amsterdam and walk while we talk. This is my preferred format, movement unlocks dyslexic thinking.

Remote (Walking Sessions by Phone): You can do walking sessions from anywhere in the world. We connect via phone while you walk in your location and I walk in mine. Many clients prefer this, you get the benefits of movement-based coaching from wherever you are.

Remote (Video Sessions): We meet via Zoom. You can be anywhere in the world. We use visual tools, Miro boards, and Design Thinking methods that work remotely.

  • Absolutely. I work with clients globally in two ways:

Walking sessions by phone: You walk in your location, I walk in mine. We talk while moving. This gives you the full benefits of movement-based coaching regardless of where you are in the world.

Video sessions: We meet via Zoom with Miro boards, visual collaboration tools, and Design Thinking exercises.

Both formats work equally well. Many clients outside Amsterdam prefer the walking phone sessions because they get the same neurological benefits without needing video.

  • No problem at all. You have options:

Video coaching works great remote, we use Miro boards, Design Thinking methods, and collaborative visual exercises via Zoom.

Walking phone sessions where you walk in your location while we talk (available globally).

Seated sessions if you have mobility limitations or prefer not to walk, we can do traditional video coaching.

The walking component is powerful for dyslexic brains, but it's not mandatory. We'll find what works best for you.

  • Simple:

    1. We schedule a time (just like any coaching session)

    2. I call you on the phone at the scheduled time

    3. You start walking wherever you are, your neighborhood, a park, even on a treadmill

    4. I walk in Amsterdam while we talk

    5. We coach for 60-90 minutes while moving

Why this works: Movement activates dyslexic thinking. Walking while talking helps you process differently than sitting at a desk. You get fresh air, physical movement, and coaching all at once.

What you need: Just comfortable walking shoes and a phone. Headphones help but aren't required.

Many clients find walking phone sessions more natural than video calls, less pressure, more authentic conversation.

  • Walking Phone Sessions:

    • You walk in your location, I walk in mine

    • Audio only (no video, less pressure)

    • Full benefits of movement for dyslexic thinking

    • More casual, conversational feel

    • Great for people who think better while moving

    • Available worldwide

    Video Sessions:

    • We meet via Zoom

    • Can use Miro boards and visual collaboration tools

    • Good for sessions where we need to look at documents or work visually together

    • Better for complex Design Thinking exercises

    • Available worldwide

Both work. Many clients alternate, walking sessions for reflective work, video for more visual/strategic planning.

  • Only if you want me to, and only with your explicit permission.

Some clients like recordings to revisit insights. Others prefer not to be recorded. Your call. I also use an AI note-taking app for follow-up emails after sessions.

  • I offer two coaching programs:

    Option 1: 4-Month Program
    8 sessions total
€2,000 (plus VAT in NL) | $2,325 USD

    Option 2: 6-Month Program
    12 sessions total
€3,000 (plus VAT in NL) | $3,485 USD

    Both plans include:

    • Regular one-on-one sessions (walking, phone, or video)

    • Support between meetings

    • Saboteur Assessment (Positive Intelligence)

    • CliftonStrengths (StrengthsFinder) assessment

    • Co-Active coaching methodology and tools

    • Design Thinking for coaching frameworks

    • Miro board access for visual collaboration, testing, and prototyping

    • Gallup tools and frameworks

    Which to choose?

The 4-month program is great if you want clarity, structure, and a focused stretch of coaching.

The 6-month program provides more time for in-depth work, creative exploration, and developing habits that last.

Most clients opt for the 6-month plan because it allows sufficient time for meaningful, long-term change.

Payment plans are available if needed.

  • Payment plans are available for both the 4-month and 6-month programs.

I also offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for clients facing financial constraints. If cost is a barrier, mention it in your intro call and we'll see what's possible.

  • Potentially, depending on your location and circumstances.

In some countries, coaching for neurodivergent professionals can be covered under workplace accommodation programs. You'd need to explore eligibility in your region.

  • Life happens. I get it.

    Cancellation policy:

    • 24+ hours notice: Full reschedule, no charge

    • Less than 24 hours: Session is charged (but we can often find alternatives)

    • Emergency situations: We'll work it out

  • Coaching only works if it's a good fit.

If after 2-3 sessions it's not clicking, we'll have an honest conversation. I can help you find someone better suited or refund unused sessions from package deals.

  • Not "homework" like school.

But yes, between sessions, you'll experiment with new approaches, test systems we design, and track what works. Coaching requires active participation, not passive listening.

If you want someone to just tell you what to do without you having to practice anything, this isn't the right fit.

  • It depends what "results" means to you.

Immediate (1-2 sessions): Clarity on your patterns, relief that someone finally gets it, new perspectives on old struggles.

Short-term (4-8 sessions): New systems starting to stick, reduced frustration, more confidence in your thinking.

Long-term (over 3 months): Sustainable change, systems that work reliably, fundamental shift in how you see your brain.

Real change takes time. Anyone promising instant transformation is lying.
